Por mi suegra que habla español me gustaría correr xbmc-tvalacarta en un "Raspberry Pi" dispositivo (ver raspbmc.com), que debe ser compatible con addons XBMC en teoría.

Sin embargo, se dice que el zip Totlol-1.1.zip tiene una "estructura incorrecta".

Me di cuenta de que un archivo addon.xml se requiere:

y Totlol-1.1.zip no contiene addon.xml. Traté de hacer uno para ejecutar default.py pero me dio un error.

¿Hay algún plan para hacer xbmc-tvalacarta compatible con Raspbmc?

(For my spanish speaking mother in law I would like to run xbmc-tvalacarta on a "Raspberry Pi" device (see raspbmc.com) which should be compatible with XBMC addons in theory. Totlol is an old plugin, from an old website that dissappears some time ago. And it was a children website, maybe not the best for your mother in law

Try tvalacarta, pelisalacarta and mywebtv plugins. Now they are distributed directly on my blog (http://blog.tvalacarta.info/plugin-xbmc) and are frequently updated.

tvalacarta is for video on demand from tv channels, and pelisalacarta is for movies and mywebtv is for live tv.

Thank you your reply. Yes, we are in Canada here and my mother in law is from Colombia. That is very valuable information. I had not know that totlol was old and for children

I will try the plugins that you recommend on the weekend. If it works it will make her very happy I will let you know how it goes,

Thank you Jesus. I regret I am still getting "Add-on does not have the correct structure" when I install from zip file with any of the pelisalacarta-xbmc-addon-dharma-3.2.48.zip pelisalacarta-xbmc-addon-eden-3.2.48.zip pelisalacarta-xbmc-plugin-3.2.48.zip
I believe it's some kind of Raspbmc issue.

You need to install the add-on for the XBMC version you got.

Raspbmc uses XBMC Frodo, so download and instal pelisalacarta-xbmc-addon-frodo-x.x.x.zip.

However, with the Eden version it should work... maybe it is better if you try the manual installation:

My 2 cents with Rapberry Pi experience:
* I do use for 9 months a Raspi with RaspBMC for a similar purpose.
* The modules I use (on a daily basis or so) are tvalacarta and mywebtv (slightly changed)
* I'm a bit behind the newest Raspbmc version as the current setup is just perfect for my purpose and I had some trouble with the Raspbmc automatic update
* I did some pre-test on XMBC installed on my PC before installing on the Rapsi. I would say the experience is the same except for some very details.
* Raspberry is not expensive at all. This way you may test the environment from start to end and offer a stable, tested and train your mother in law.
* Avoid mixing old Raspis and new ones (some details about overclocking, memory, etc...). Just give the full package away (raspi, card, box, charger) and use the old one to have the kids learning/playing scratch

I went to: http://blog.tvalacarta.info/plugin-xbmc ... descargar/ and downloaded:
http://blog.tvalacarta.info/descargas/p ... 3.2.59.zip and copied it to the home folder on the raspberry pi. Then I selected "install from zip file" for the add-on's and voila: It works now !!!!

Jesus, alcla, thank you so much I am very glad that you did not give up on me and that I tried again.

The first program is playing right now. My mother-in-law and my wife will be very excited when they get home. I am also going to watch the shows myself and pick up more Spanish that way
